Dear Friends and Family, I am excited to announce that I have been nominated and given the amazing opportunity to be a part of The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Student Visionaries of the Year 2024 Campaign. This is a seven-week fundraising competition to raise money in support of LLS starting January 17th – March 8th, 2024. As a visionaire, I've chosen and will be working with a small group of friends and together we have formed Team Rangers for a Cure. Together we will be working to help raise the funds necessary to benefit those who need them. I am asking my friends and family to help us assist the efforts of the LLS to find a cure for blood cancer. I am currently a Junior at Lakewood High School and when I was in elementary school, a close friend was diagnosed with leukemia. I also have family and freinds in both my school and community who have been affected by all types of cancer. Their experiences have opened my eyes to the importance of helping others when able too. I am passionate about helping others and routinely volunteer my time to support my community. Whether it be through working with young kids at summer camp or after-school programs. Or volunteering at local nursing homes, fighting to end homelessness. I have had the opportunity to see how my time and service can make a difference in the lives of other people. Through LLS I will gain valuable experiences like communicating with business leaders, building teams, and leading toward a common goal. Through your support of my team, I hope to impact the countless people affected by leukemia and lymphoma and support the doctors and nurses who work tirelessly to support cancer patients. Each charitable dollar you contribute to our campaign makes an impacting difference. One hundred percent of these funds go directly to LLS in support of its longstanding mission to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease, and myeloma and to improve the quality of life of patients and their families. Not only is LLS helping patients with blood cancers, but LLS is going beyond blood cancer by funding more than 60% of the blood cancer therapies being used to treat other cancers. This year, as we continue to navigate through the pandemic, it is crucial to support organizations like LLS, as cancer patients are at a higher risk for complications with COVID-19.
